Friends, as you no doubt noticed, the Houthis in Yemen recently launched a brazen attack on the main airport in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia. How can a bunch of upstart zealots in the hills of Yemen strike at the heart of "The Kingdom"??? It's a puzzlement. These Houthis have been in control of most of the populated areas of Yemen for some time, and the internationally recognized and supported government there has been unable to tame them. Saudi airstrikes haven't changed the equation much. How can a ragtag group backed only by Iran achieve so much success, and even threaten a vital maritime chokepoint like the Bab al-Mandab Strait at the bottom of the Red Sea? I think the time has come for the U.S. to join the fight against the Houthis. Not with ground troops, of course, but with intelligence, airpower, and naval forces. They ought to be seen as Iranian proxies as well as a serious menace in their own right. Down with the Houthis!!! Down with the mullahs!!! Up with the USA (and those reasonable types who get along with us)!!!

Dr. Waddy: Very well and concisely said.We are engaged in a long delayed reckoning with a movement atavistic yet also modern in its self satisfied radicalism. It must be contained until it implodes of its own corruption. We have the military power to accomplish this, we have entered upon it and we must stay the course . We have been since 1917 and continue to be in this, champions of civilization against the forces of technologically enabled barbarism,.
ReplyDeleteWe are engaged now in a democratic process , in which a very important decision may be made, which nonetheless runs the risk posed by the "democratic wager" that we could recklessly empower a Congress dominated by grimly purposeful DSA America haters who would do all they can to ensure America's and world civilization's defeat in this war , should they acquire the power.

ReplyDeleteOn the eve of the elections, I think a lot of praying will also be beneficial. After all, The Left is anti-Christian and anti-Israel.

ReplyDeleteThe Church I attend is having Prayer Vigils right before the elections. In Kansas we are hoping to have a Republican Governor this time, after eight years of a Democrat. Good luck to you in New York.
Ray: Thanx! Hope Kansas does not elect a DSA/Dem Senator , as some sources are suggesting could happen(?) We are hoping against hope in NY as we always do in this one party dictatorship. But Gov. Hochul is disdained in much of the state so we do have a chance of electing a common sense Governor unbeholden to Comrade Mamdani. Unfortunately NY will still be a shameful source of baleful DSA national influence in the persons of demagogue AOC , Comrade Mamdani and possible second from the Presidency Jeffries. I look to Kansas to be exemplary among the "red" states (how ironic that term is for we who grew up during the Cold War) standing up to the DSA threat to America.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy: So "by any means necessary" "Rep." Ilhan Omar is miffed that , as she actually has the crust to bleat , the Administration is using our legal system for (gasp) partisan advantage against its opponents. She is being taken to task for possible Immigration Law "irregularities". Why, "the sorrow and the pity"that such an unprecedented low in our politics has been broached and all the more so as it is directed to her exalted self. Why she is . . . well . . . a law maker!
ReplyDeleteJust imagine an American going to her native Somalia, somehow attaining to governmental office and then using it to castigate Somalia and to support a domestic faction determined to "fundamentally transform " Somalia into something Somalia does not want to be. "Just imagine" is all we can do because probably there is no country other than the US and maybe the UK which so idealistically tolerates refugees from miasmic hellholes who think it just peachy to trash the country which has given them haven even as far as U.S. citizenship with all its precious advantages . Such ingratitude would in most countries manifest very unpleasant consequences for the reckless ingrate.
If the people who voted this untimely harridan into Congress wish to express their disdain for our country, why don't they find some other way? Why inject her into government, counterintuitively awarding her powers common sense says should not be afforded to persons with such ill will toward our sometimes inadvisably forgiving and generous democracy? Why not just kick in for billboards advertising her myriad virtues and their obsequious embrace of them?!
Since it is probably unendurable even in our guilty land to have an unlawful law maker in office, one might hope that a former "Rep." Omar found culpable for "gaming" our Immigration Laws be conveyed either to her maybe unwelcoming native land or some purely just land which meets her exacting standards. She would be happier for sure and we would be so much the better off to be shut of her America hating ilk.
