Sic Semper Tyrannis

Friends, I definitely didn't see this coming!  The Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of Virginia has invalidated the referendum that approved the Dems' new gerrymandered map of Congressional districts.  This means it is highly likely that the old map will stand, meaning that the Dems won't be able to scoop up four extra seats.  Ergo, the big mess of gerrymandering that DJT set off this cycle is very likely to produce, on balance, a GOP gain of ten or more seats!  Wow!!!  Trump is looking like a genius...  Does this mean Republicans will keep control of the House after November?  Not necessarily, but it sure gives them a much better chance.

In other news, they've had some local elections in the U.K., and the big winner is the Reform Party of Nigel Farage.  The big losers are the establishment parties: Labour and the Conservatives.  Does this mean that Reform is a shoo-in to win the next general election?  No, but it means that a fundamental realignment of British politics is occurring, and there's a good chance that major changes will be coming to the U.K. in the next few years.  The voters can only be ignored for so long, after all...

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Being a conservative in a NY state where a DSA/Dem absolute majority (thanx to frivolous NYC) rules with authoritarian haught, I am very happy to see common sense traditional Virginia so redeemed! Oh no, the far leftists who have , through electoral misrepresentation of their radical views , taken Executive Branch control there , will not relent, they may disingenuously temporarily relent from trying to force " fun
damental transformation " on a state the core of which does not need or want it . Their intention has been from the start to make Virginia the beach head of a far left prostitution of the South . That the South, along with the Mountain West , is the most patriotic section of the US, motivates the America haters to see its occupation by imperious northerners as a vital objective in their incipient and (they think) inevitable takeover of a fundamentally condemned US.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: The Brits left the EU when its incipient dictatorship became obvious. Lets hope they soon do the same to Labour for the same reason and empower the U.K.'s DJT, Farage.

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Scotus has ruled that race cannot be a factor in Congressional districting. That probably means by anyone, for any purpose, be it intended to favor or disfavor a race. I presume (I'm not a lawyer) that means that if district specific districting or redistricting can be lawfully established in court to be working harm on individuals or a class within that district, that the recent Scotus decision is nonetheless legal authority for seeking relief in that specific setting.

No wonder the DSA/Dems are having a nuclear snit! They've been gerrymandering for ever so long based on the assumption that only they can assure racial "equity". Its over now and high time too. This isn't 1964. A party now dominated by Marxist determination to force unwanted and unneeded"fundamental transformation" on our country is using it now solely to advance that resolution. They disingenuously maintain that there has been negligible progress in racial relations since 1964. Would Obama have been elected President in 1964? Racial relations must now be examined for factors other than official discrimination against minorities to explain the well being or lack thereof of minority groups. And the perfectionist comprehensive "equity" the far left and its captured DSA/Dem party purports to seek is humanly unattainable. The historically affirmed catastrophic reality of massive efforts to establish this fantasy prove its continued cynicism and injustice.

  5. Jack, I'm not entirely sure why the Supreme Court of Virginia nixed the Dems' gerrymander, but I'm certainly not complaining! Alas, as you suggest, the Dems' efforts to entrench themselves in power in the Old Dominion won't stop there. This may be more of a stay of execution than anything.

Jack, my understanding is that partisan gerrymandering is now permissible, and racial gerrymandering is only impermissible if it can be proven to have been intentionally racially discriminative. Of course, what constitutes proof of that? To the Dems, as soon as we Republicans wake up in the morning, we're proven bigots. Why? Because! That's why.
