Friends, there were some intriguing developments today related to efforts to hold Dems and Trump haters responsible for their various and sundry alleged crimes. First, a federal judge, appointed by Bill Clinton, dismissed the charges against James Comey and Letitia James, although the Justice Department vows that new charges will be filed in due course. Second, the Department of War (grrr!) announced that it is investigating Senator Mark Kelly (D - Arizona) for his actions in connection with the video recently posted to X encouraging service members to disobey "illegal orders" (undefined and unspecified). Context would be king if the military decides to court-martial Kelly, but it might be worth a try. Certainly the (civilian) courts have not proved to be a reliable instrument with which to discipline rogue Democrats -- and that's an understatement!!!

Dr. Waddy from Jack: Well, this is becoming a bad business.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the President was stating fact when he said that treason can be punished by death but he was mistaken about sedition, which carries a maximum 20 years in the clink. He did so to emphasize the seriousness of these crimes and in that is justified, since he intends to take action.
Maybe Cap't Kelly expects to be Court Martialed and intends this to generate agreement with him in this manner and consequences inimical to the use of the military to aid the law abiding in shamefully anarchic cities. As for him and the other Senator involved, the Senate may sanction them and all of the protestors could face criminal charges.
Their action was exceedingly reckless. We have already seen potentially murderous attacks on law enforcement , including the military, in cities where the President has done his duty in protecting law abiding Americans from vicious criminals. It is entirely reasonable to think that the protestors may have excited unstable people into mayhem against our forces - "why, two Senators say the military should disobey 'illegal orders' ! Ok, so if they don't I'll make them sorry they didn't !"
As is true in its effort to right the immigration wrong done by the Biden administration , it is proper and dutiful for the Trump administration to uphold and enforce our laws in this situation.
". . . in this matter . . . " (not manner) Jack
ReplyDeleteDr. Wady from Jack: Yeah, it was just announced that 2 National Guardsmen have been shot in D.C. Actions have consequences and demagoguery exemplifies it.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Well, the tawdry spectacle raised by that amoral DA in Georgia and her smug inamorata, in order to join in the "pile on" on DJT in that infamous era of raging lawfare during his interim , is no more. The absurd election law charges against DJT and noble Mayor Guiliani have apparently been consigned to the ash heap and those two lowlife prosecutors are further disgraced. How regrettable it is that any amount of taxpayer funds went to support those two, let alone the amount they misappropriated. Well, in our democracy, unlike the "unanimous" polling forced by the Marxist dictatorships that the "Democratic" Socialists of America emulate, our elections have free consequences; sometimes they are unfortunate, as they are for any community which elects miscreants like that DA in Georgia and the incompetent squeeze she presumed to appoint and succor with taxpayer "largesse" . Their rollicking misconduct stands in sharp contrast to the benefit their "legal" targets have afforded America.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: I saw a very interesting documentary on the present day Japanese Navy. I thought it was a relatively minor force; the tragic history of past Japanese naval adventure might well have soured the Japanese on such advanceable power. But, it is a credible force and one which China must take into serious account since it is allied with us. And it presents one of the navies in the crescent of some island nations facing China in East Asia. They also include Taiwan, S. Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia and India. Chinese long held determination to reincorporate Taiwan (tempered by the long range view of history which the Chinese appear to manifest) must take this potential (IF it can work together) deterrent into serious account. Taiwan is its strategic keystone. Then of course there is the, uhh, considerable , U.S. Navy in what we term the Western Pacific.
ReplyDeleteChina's continuing premier foreign policy objective is to ensure that China never again be victimized as it was from 1820 to 1945 by the West and a once expansionist Japan. What do they consider to be the assurance that this goal is realized in this technologically made far smaller world? Is it a degree of power which requires a forceful breaching of this island barrier? Is it world dominance itself? They may well be circumspect on this. They do have an economy incredibly well recovered from Marxist oppression, which provides a high degree of material well being to so many and all the many civilizational advantages which derive from this. Would they risk all this to hazard a forceful breakout from what they see either as a vexatious barrier, or as a reason to turn inward, to a new Silk Road , complimented by their already thriving intercourse with East Africa? If they choose to break out to the East, that Japanese force would be a formidable opponent.
I am no China expert and I would welcome the input of those who are so.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: We contained an expansionist and monstrously Stalinist Soviet Union by forming the very successful alliance which Nato has been. Can we repeat this success in containing a China which MAY present an expansionist threat? We didn't have to fight the Soviets and we must hope never to militarily engage China. The worthy alternative could be a world graced by a balance of powers and thriving economies which could bring to most of the world the belated blessings of prosperity. Unlike its predecessor, that Japanese Navy could be a benevolent part of a very salubrious and true "Coprosperity Sphere ".
