Friends, believe it or not, after a long hiatus, I wrote an article! I was inspired by the humbling of the BBC at the hands of You-Know-Who, as you'll see:

In other news, DJT has ground the shutdown underfoot, as we all knew he would, and Republicans made remarkably few concessions to get the Dems to cry uncle. Well played! Of course, the shutdown was always a stunt anyway, and as such was at least no great liability to the Dems, which is sad to admit but true. They ought to be ashamed of themselves, and anyone who voted blue in the recent election should be too, but alas that's just not how the world works...

I agree; it is extraordinarily satisfying see the MSM as discredited as to be schooled thereby even overseas. Lets hope that that long deserved comeuppance extends to the far left in general in both countries. The MSM's unprincipled and obsequious conduct certainly is a prime example of the far left's dedication to "any means necessary" to force their totalitarian intent in both countries regardless of whether they need it or not. I hope that the MSM's vicious biases continue to come under unrelenting attack and that they face no choice but to be "fundamentally transformed" into institutions ruled by traditional standards of journalistic integrity. If that comes about, it would be a staggering blow to the far left.
Dr. Waddy from Jack :The shutdown and its resolution: it was yet another day in America's neoCivil War. Political force is ALL now; both sides realize it and the far left/Dems don't have enough of it just now . They don't have a leader with the grit of Donald Trump and with their vicious, lawless personal onslaught on him they have foolishly created their "Nemesis "(the Greek semidiety who, when commanded by the Gods to do so , always harried the guilty unto destruction).

They won a few contests they should have been able to swing in places grievously conned by their "siren song" of incipient and historically proven Marxist tyranny in the name of "social justice". Now that party's powers think they have redeemed themselves from the shellacking they got in 2024 and from the present Administration - Ehh, NOT! Nemesis, in the personification of an America which now fully understands that it has within it a faction which has as its essential purpose the , if necessary, forceful "fundamental transformation" of an America it , with all the evil its 20th century predecessors manifested , now expresses in fanatic and emotionally propelled renewal of its insane intent.
In ancient Greece's sometimes symbolic mythology, Nemesis was often directed to those who manifested "hubris", a presumptuous supposition that they had acquired Gods like righteousness. Hubris is a a state of mind discernable in the Marxist mind since Marx bade them think themselves as unquestionably just as they do. And an America determined to preserve its creditable (not perfect, just good and that is plenty) civilization has empowered a modern Nemesis to disabuse them of their smoky dorm room and "Che" inspired dreams, no matter what shields and disguises behind which they hide.
Jack, I don't entirely reject your assessment of the BBC as "civilized". I mean, I link to BBC articles all the time and I value the comprehensive, global coverage that they provide and which almost no US outlet does. I take everything the BBC says with a grain of salt, and I deplore their anti-Trump, anti-populist bias, but I still listen to and value their perspective.
ReplyDeleteHmm. I still say it's optimistic to equate resistance to neo-Marxism with "America" as a whole. America as a whole is fickle at best. America as a whole would just as soon impeach Trump as uphold his presidential authority and dignity. America as a whole, in fact, doesn't show up to vote more often than it votes Republican. No, if we're going to save this country, we'll need to do it with a minority of true believers...but it's been done before, after all. We just need our minority to be bigger than theirs.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: As is so often true, your well considered comments give me pause. You are right; its always an assertive and active minority which makes the big differences. At present I'd say that ours is in the ascendent and I think it does defend those values most widely embraced by Americans. We measured and common sense traditionalists are very often too busy living constructive and positive lives to have time for activism. And it is hard for many people to accept the fact that we have within us a very influential and determined mob perversely determined to destroy this miraculous free and prosperous nation.
ReplyDeleteThe far left it appears; has the considerable time it takes to turn out in force for amoral dissemblance and castigation of a country which affords them an unprecedented wealth of freedom. They have those busy little bees in the MSM subjugated into obsequious support of their incipiently totalitarian goals . Too, they are blessed by a cadre of government supported "community organizers" who set them a telling example of sloth and presumption and who are very excited these days by the expanded "employment" opportunities which await them in NYC. And then of course they have the American academy and its horde of those omnicient callow youths who choose to be oh so world weary of American imperfection. And to be sure, they stroke those affluent idiots who afford them lucre in the vain hope of saving themselves from the tumbrels and the scaffold.
So the far left does continue, with ever more openly expressed intent, to present an appalling threat to all we cherish. History proves that those of good will who succor them now would of course be among the "masses" subjugated and oppressed by far left tyrants should they ever achieve the total power they seek, yes, right here in America!
Yes, Jack, we will never match the lefties in agitation. That's their stock in trade. And I have to hand it to them: they've been incredibly active and enraged since last November, but, by and large, they've avoided rioting and blood frenzy. Pity, that, because it almost lends them an air of...credibility?
