Friends, the Left's weaponization of Jeffrey Epstein has really kicked into high gear of late. They obviously feel they can pull a Prince Andrew on DJT. Well, I very much doubt that, but they have managed to thoroughly delude themselves. The number of lefties who think that Trump -- and every prominent Republican -- is a pedophile has skyrocketed! I reflect in this week's Newsmakers interview about how sad it is that Trump haters will grasp at any straw, no matter how tattered and insubstantial, to buttress their searing hatred for Donald Trump. Pathetic! It's a fact of life, though, and it ain't goin' away. This week, Brian and I also talk about the shutdown fallout, AOC's future, the staying power of socialism, and more!

I'm not sure I like President Trump's decision to eliminate tariffs on a range of groceries. First, it feels like a retreat from his signature policy, and that will cheer up the lefties, who we never want to see with a smile on their faces. Second, it feels like an admission that tariffs cause higher prices, and if so then why are we tariffing everyone in sight??? My hope is that this is just a small, tactical retreat, and will not lead to a wider collapse in Trump's tariff strategy.

Dr. Waddy from Jack: When you watch MSNBC, now and then, just for ducks that is, you'd think there is another Watergate going on. Of course they hope it is.
ReplyDeleteBut Dems and their obsequious mouthpieces have no moral authority to take DJT to task for Epstein related faults. They went to the wall for the most obscene individual ever to occupy the White house , which he apparently used for his kinky trysts with nubile ingenues without a thought of what that building means to an America he delighted in toying with.
Oh no doubt they are gearing up for one of their routine impeachments but it won't pass in Congress. Its all in a day's work in Civil War II. BTW, wouldn't be all that big a surprise if Dem "elder" Slick Willy has Epsteinitis himself. Gon' go after ol 'randy Willy too, Dems, ehhh?
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I think it likely that this latest tariff move is both a tactical retreat and a sincere effort to bring prices down. Tariffs have been a powerful asset for this wheeler dealer President and he has used them with skill. In the all out political war on America which the far left has waged with ever more desperate intensity since realizing that DJT is their worst nightmare come true, setbacks are guaranteed. We may have some painful ones coming. So lets fasten our seatbelts stay the course and other cliches which may fit.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Re: the Newsmaker broadcast: surely there are, even among some of good will on the left , those who believe that DJT is a pedophile and therefore , understandably, deserving of the anathema of our society and laws.
ReplyDeleteBut I'd suggest there are many more on the left who hope to see this condemnation successful ONLY because it might well mean the disempowerment of their very most disturbing opponent ever, one who presents a plausible threat of ending their "fundamental transformation" of an America of which they are deeply ashamed and determined to force into submission to their unchallengeable correction.
Then there are the Marxist hardcores, the lawfare and castigation almost unto physical destruction crowd for whom "Epstein" is yet another tactic. You made a very solid point in noting that Epstein is not a very credible source for any kind of information. He was a deeply perverted man who may well have drawn satisfaction from harming people who excited his antipathy for any reason his disturbed mind embraced. He led a shameful, tawdry life by soliciting for moral relativists and sybaritic voluptuaries. His end was one of intense degradation. And the Dems actually believe the American people would put their faith in him and submit to the latest of their bitterly partisan attacks on our President! Such is their contempt for an America they purport to champion.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: So, BBC has picked up the gauntlet and declares it would defend its honor against a charge of slander brought by, well, the President of the United States in his personal capacity.
ReplyDeleteTo my knowledge, U.S. Civil Law does not require a unanimous jury vote to find the defendent culpable. I do not know about that aspect of UK law. It would appear that the manipulation of the video was to cause an observer with good sense and good will very possibly to conclude that President Trump was encouraging or excusing violence. Again, it is probably reasonable to conclude that this falsehood was meant to cause him immense political and personal damage , including the ruin of his political career . Is that by definition the malice which I understand to be necessary in successfully prosecuting a case of slander?
The BBC has already admitted having produced this hoax. Can they raise a plausible question of whether or not it was purposeful or whether the BBC as an entity can be held responsible? I think I have read that in the UK it is easier than in the U.S. for a public figure to win an action of slander but I don't know if UK law would apply.
On balance, I would think the BBC is likely to be held culpable for some damage. If President Trump brings this civil action it could have very widespread and beneficial results. The American MSM has for several decades now shown a shameful predeliction for subjection of journalistic integrity to the cause of the now grown very far left in the United States. It has demonstrated that it agrees with radical "America" that it is just to use "any means necessary" to "fundamentally transform" a fatally flawed and unjust U.S.
Rush Limbaugh pioneered effective resistance to this belief and President Trump has persisted in it since he first took office. Media heads have started to roll in the U.S. over it and if BBC were to be compelled to pay staggering damages it might give intimidated pause to a decisive number of our far left shill outlets.
No doubt far left journalism schools have played a major role in the prostitution of their profession to the cause of incipient totalitarianism while they bleat "censorship" when accused of this. For state supported schools perhaps this BBC case could put state legislators and governors in mind of the possibility of states being held financially responsible for the professionally enforced biases with which their graduates are indoctrinated, yes? And for such schools located in private "universities" receiving Federal funding, scrutiny comparable to that to which Ivy League schools have been subjected by the Trump administration would be appropriate and revealing.
". . . professionally enforced POLITICAL biases . . . " Jack
ReplyDeleteYes, the Dems may rue the day when they decided to weaponize those "Epstein Files". Whatever is in them, it will be the Trump DOJ that will decide whom, if anyone, to prosecute for Epstein-related outrages. Methinks some Dems might be on that list...
ReplyDeleteTrue, Jack -- setbacks are inevitable, and mistakes too. Admitting you were wrong isn't the worst thing a leader can do.
Jack, I haven't seen the numbers on how many Dems/lefties believe Trump to be a pedophile (or a murderer, or a serial arsonist, or a mattress tag remover), but I fear the figures would be startingly high. And even a slight stir of the pot, journalistically speaking, could make them go still higher.
Hmm. You rightly point out that Trump could sue the BBC, theoretically, in the UK or in the US (or both). I wonder what the result would be...and if the brouhaha might end up strengthening the BBC and buttressing its bottom line? Quite a few politicians and reporters wear their battle scars from spats with Trump like badges of honor, and not without reason. Picking a fight with DJT can be the road to riches, fame, and advancement.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I wonder though, how many people of combative temperament , especially those who react reflexively and with emotional attack, to opposition of any kind, thinking it to be by definition incorrect and reprehensible, are principled enough to sincerely acknowledge in some way that they have been bettered. Since Donald Trump has, in practice and proof, bettered so many on the far left , I think it safe to conclude that for the very most part, they disdain such honorable self abnegation. History, I think, proves that such bigotry is characteristic of totalitarians and their spawn.
