Friends, distressing news: the dastardly Dems have won tonight -- and they've won big! They've prevailed in both governors races, in Virginia and New Jersey, by solid margins. They elected an avowed socialist, Zohran Mamdani, as Mayor of New York City. They even won a race for Attorney General in Virginia with a candidate who pines for the violent death of Republicans...and their children. I think the big takeaway here is that DEMOCRATS ARE PISSED!!! They haven't gone away, despite our fondest wish that the party and movement would self-destruct and trouble us no more. Quite the contrary: they're highly motivated to oppose Trump and the GOP with all their might, which is considerable, since so many of them are wealthy, educated, and well-connected. Now, in case you're tempted to succumb to despair, keep in mind that none of their victories tonight are all that consequential. No governor, and no mayor, can hold a candle to Generalissimo Trump, in terms of sheer power. We still control the White House, Congress, the Supreme Court, and countless state governments too. What's more, there is a sizable silver lining in these results, for us: the Dems will interpret their crushing victories as a sign that their lurch leftwards is fine and dandy, and that America craves the Bolshevik balderdash that they're peddling. In short, they will double down on all the TDS, all the neo-Marxism, all the big government redistributionism, all the wackiness, and all the smugness that has "gotten them this far". They may, in consequence, shoot themselves in the foot, as they have done so often in the past. Therefore, I wouldn't panic, by any means, but I wouldn't scoff at those hobbling Dems either. They are eminently capable of winning in 2026, and 2028, and beyond, and they will, unless we play our cards just right. The battle is joined! And we must, and I believe we shall, ultimately prevail.

In other news, former Vice-President Dick Cheney has died. Far be it from me to speak ill of the dead, but it's more than a little remarkable that a man who the Left often compared to Darth Vader, because of his unapologetic conservatism and his penchant for they regarded as authoritarianism and military aggression, became, in the fullness of time, a bitter enemy of Donald Trump and even endorsed Kamala Harris's presidential bid in 2024. Egad! What incredible realignments the Trump Era has begat. A friend reminded me today that I once interned for Dick and Lynne Cheney at the American Enterprise Institute. This was way back in 1995, I believe. I had plumb forgot! That seems like it was several lifetimes ago, back when Dick Cheney's reputation was, well, rather different than what it is now. It just goes to show you that, in life and in death, nothing is ever permanent, except maybe death itself, from which, I suppose, old Dick is unlikely to recover. Never say never, though! If anyone could manage it, surely it would be he.

Dr. Waddy from Jack: Its understandable that some people of good will , like Dick Cheney , would find Donald Trump unpalatable; he is an unapologetic happy warrior and " right merrily" does he assert himself. Cheney's characterization of DJT as "the greatest threat to democracy in our country today" was, coming from him, disturbing but not at all convincing. What, would the Dems count on someone they despised to support their loathing for the President? Cheney was a good American.
ReplyDeletePost election: the America hating radical usurpation of a once great American party will advance apace. I trust that will work to our advantage. Sure, the far left/Dems still retain much power to dissemble ; so did the Germans in 1944.
Cuomo's defeat does provide some satisfaction. Presumably that arrogant pedantic is finished politically.
And to be sure, President Trump won't be down; he's been through far worse and come out a big winner.
Glad you're still itching for a fight, Jack! Hmm. Is Cuomo finished? I suppose he could run for Congress. Maybe he could try for Senate? Maybe he could oppose Hochul in the Dem primary for Governor? Never underestimate the size of a politician's ego, or the meagerness of their capacity for shame...
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack Yeah, the far left/dems are pissed at us; what da frig - they are always pissed at us. They are perfectionists , just like their mentor Marx, who actually thought a perfectly just society was inevitable, even among ever fallible humans. (maybe it is possible among worker ants; after all, that's the image Mao, Stalin and Pol Pot, even exalted "Che" ,had of their subjects) That's a very convenient doctrine for totalitarians; it gives them leave to presume their every view to be perfectly just , omniscient and challengeable only at mortal risk. And from that it follows that anyone who actually ventures to doubt them is perfectly reprehensible and outlaw.
ReplyDeleteBut that is convenient for us too. No need to waste time trying to avoid offending them. They are already perfectly and comprehensively offended. And like all perfectionists they are incapable of satisfaction.
Their personal onslaught on our President and his family was viciously offensive. And the history of their doctrine proves that they stay pissed off even when they have acquired power. I mean , 100 million victims killed by their own governments , the ruin of countless more lives - an effort proven perfectly futile - it takes being pretty offended to do that with such murderous verve.
The far left/Dems are so perfectly upset that their war cry is "by ANY means necessary" . Despite these wins yesterday they are essentially the same existential threat to all America cherishes that they have been for decades. Donald Trump's insolence in daring to resist them has stung them to the point that they are unable to control their combustible emotions, which are always close to volcanic and self righteous eruption and verge on driving them to complete frankness about their Marxist intentions.
I am truly sorry for that geographical majority in Virginia now subjugated by smug left wing Yankee intruders concentrated in those areas easily accessible to the east coast megalopolis, DC and Maryland. The election of that Attorney General candidate bespeaks a contemptible moral relativism which is foreign to that state.
Dr. Waddy from Jack : The far left/ Dems are gathering for a final confrontation with America. Their emotions allow them no surcease from the unbearable offense wrought them by President Trump's heretical tenure. Their true colors are unfurling and will be ready for the final onslaught. "Pickett's Charge" may be at hand.
ReplyDeleteI think they have about as much chance of winning as the Confederacy had , especially since America is led by a man of unconquerable constancy and foresight which will, perhaps , prove comparable to that which blessed the Union cause in our first Civil War.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: Cuomo would, I think, be very unhappy in a legislative position, where the podium would not be his to command.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: So Speaker "Emerita" Pelosi is going to repair to San Francisco. My, that flight over "fly over country" must be an unpleasant experience for one of her rarified nobility. "Emerita" ehh? My understanding is that in Latin the "a" imparts a plural sense to a word(eg intelligencia). Was she in office something approaching superhuman status, with a semidivine dual existence? Oh we of little faith.
ReplyDeleteHer departure thins the Dem party ranks of the RELATIVELY moderate, like Schumer and Cuomo. No doubt her successor will be of fashionable San Franciscan radical disdain for America and readiness to be a foot soldier for "fundamental transformation" of our fundamentally flawed (read "imperfect) land.
Now I hope they don't forget to "fumigate" her office upon her unlamented departure.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I am glad that President Trump opined, upon Pelosi's announcement that she will not seek reelection that she did great disservice to the country during her tenure. He characterized her as evil. Good for him; "he says what we want to say!"He does America a distinct service by setting an example of unapologetic unwillingness to be intimidated by an "American " far left , of which Pelosi has been a vital advocate, which knows no limits in expressing and enacting castigation of any who stand up to their incipient totalitarianism. With this President and the MAGA he stands for, if they dish it out, they better expect to have to take it!
ReplyDeleteWell, were those remarks any more derogatory than what she has directed to him? Many people of good will on our side urge us not to "sink to their level". I respect their intent but I maintain that it is futile not to direct all the political power we can muster to prevent these vicious dreamers from subjugating our country to their Marxist visions. Alinsky was right when he pointed out that ridicule is a powerful tactic.
Our President is skillful in its use and we should back him all the way. Pelosi was two appalling steps from the very Presidency itself and she displayed no restraint in directing vicious invective especially to Donald Trump. Like so many on the left, she appears to believe that her unchallengeable political correctness frees her of any obligation for common courtesy even (as Charlie Kirk exemplified) to those whose expressed views and intents are disturbing. I would love to have seen him debate her. With his confident logic,he would have turned her into a spluttering hoyden completely given in to debilitating emotion. Far leftist contempt for common sense always makes them vulnerable to such dialectical challenge.
For so long we were frustrated by RINOS who failed us in going nose to nose with the America hating far left. Now we have a Presidential hombre who lives up to John L. Lewis's exclamation: "they smote me hip and thigh and right merrily did I return their blows!"
Dr. Waddy from Jack: President Trump warned yesterday that America faces a choice between communism and common sense. He is right on point!
ReplyDeleteIts really nothing new; communism proved its depravity a long time ago and its dreamy advocates have been bustling in the U.S. since mid century. The "Democratic" Socialists of America are commies plain and simple and we must assume of them the worst. Commie hijacking of labor unions is an old story both here and in the U.K.. Marxist labor leader Harry Brydges tried to shut down the San Francisco docks in WWII no less! I know the UMW was infected by Marxists in the 1950s because I saw their influence on a patriotic WWII combat veteran I knew. And I witnessed commie advocacy among some in the NY state public employee union I was in. So now they are going for the very Dem party itself.
The "Democratic" Socialists may well be succeeding in making one of our two major parties their obsequious vehicle for attempted ascension to national power. Their stated intentions (eg. the abolition of capitalism) are unmistakably commie to the core and they have become increasingly overconfident in being frank about them. That of course is fully to be expected of them. The far left always overreaches when it thinks it itself to have won even a very qualified advantage.
Oh and I'll "moderate" my opinion that Cuomo may be ( as we hope)politically finished; I still do think he may well go for the Dem nomination in '28 by portraying himself as the valiant defender of a beleagured "loyal"Dem party in his stand against a Mamdani who will probably by then have flown his true colors.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: If I understand correctly, the Dems have offered to agree to a one year extension of the Obamacare provisions they love so very dearly.
ReplyDeleteGee, lets see: a year from now will be just after the midterms. If the far left/ Dems win then, which they now frantically consider likely and after all, their just due, I think somehow they would demand, on pain of all the vicious personal dissembling , then reempowered, of which they are so famously notorious, especially against a once and future perceived "defanged" DJT, a further extension , with additional benefits to be sure.
The ultimate goal of the "Democratic" Socialists who may be close subjugating the Dem party, is of course, completely government run health care unto the slightest detail and the most remote location. Jan. '27 would be to them a stage as was 1905 to the Russian Bolsheviks, in their "revolution". Naturally for them, upon summation it would incorporate their political and social prejudices mandating first class care to exalted classes and the dregs to classes proscribed due to their former arrogantly asserted and undeserved privileges. Objection or political resistance to such totalitarian dictate would be met with vindictive enforcement of , at least, denial of care to those as insolent as to do so. But before long, as history shows, ALL but party cadre and leadership would be reduced to perfect and "equitable" destitution and deprivation.
The emergence of successful "Democratic" Socialist candidates for significant offices heralds a breakout of these incipient totalitarians from their formerly disingenuous acquiesence to an American democracy they despise, to open declaration of intent to "fundamentally transform" the "fundamentally flawed "U.S. to a country congruent to their airy perfectionist ideals.
