On A Roll, Baby!

Friends, kudos to Nikki Haley, who won today's Republican primary in the District of Columbia.  Let rhe record show that Haley had accumulated a massive string of defeats, including in her home state, but she is nonetheless the preferred choice of Washington swamp creatures who call themselves Republicans, which of course is a very select group, but still...  Haley's chances of being the GOP presidential nominee evaporated a while ago, but assuming she's running out of stubbornness, or for personal profit, or because she likes attention, or because she plans to say "I told you so" after Trump loses, then this result in D.C. will put something akin to wind in her sails.  Say what you want about Nikki, but she's right about one thing: a lot of Republicans would prefer a nominee other than Trump.  Count me among them.  Having said that, when it's New York's turn to have a Republican primary, I won't be pulling any lever for Nikki.  She ain't my cup of tea.

  1. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Nikki Haley is the candidate of the (to me) atavistic rump of the GOP which served us even essential rino Romney. It's too bad; she's decent, hard working and hard fighting but she cannot bring herself to the grim realization that the only way to defeat the antiamerican left is down and dirty, gloves off, in the trenches, for real and for good! The hopeful totalitarians adopted that mien ages ago. Her win in DC is not surprising; she has futile compromise and accomodation with those who would destroy America written all over her and Maga can read it. The disdainful far left has, once again, overreached , with its illegal lawfare onslaught which only strengthens the DJT they dread so apocalyptically the more they advance it! They took a real haymaker from our lawful Scotus today. Their Presidential ticket is laughably incompetent and their dismissive support for it yet further underlines their contempt for an American all of which outside their airy enclaves and salons is '"flyover country" to them. The polls are "appolling" just now. They are down and America NOW mobilize an instinct for the political jugular, hit them when they are down, keep them down (ala slugger Jack Dempsey) and preserve our way of life. Haley is not the one to lead us in this.

  2. Dr. Waddy from Jack: By your leave: Thoughts on the Scotus decision: I am confident that the far left rump on the court would have upheld Colorado's totalitarian presumption in its ludicrous ploy to deny its untrustworthy electorate a chance to choose for themselves ,if they had been able to scrape up a pretense. Their apparently principled questioning at the hearing may well have been grudging and
even disingenuous. (As it was, they just had to carp at the decision). The Colorado dictate was so badly conceived that even they could not but rule against it. Well the antiamerican left has messed up badly with its cynical and revealing misuse of our laws. The more they task DJT so the more popular he gets and all the more obvious their fundamental determination to end the American experience becomes. Understandably, there are many of good will who cannot conceive of the amoral depth to which a once loyal dem party has descended but this will go a ways to convincing them of its appalling intent. Coupled with their egregious violation of Immigration Law and American national integrity at the border, their counterintuitive disestablishment of our energy independence, their pusillanimous excuse of violent crime and their unforgivable attack on law enforcement (naturally for them), their Maoist imposition of dreamy social artifice in their DIE campaign and their prostitution of climate science to their frantic determination to "fundamentally transform" an America which insolently protests no need of that totalitarian remedy: with all of this they have opened a chasm from which they may be unable to con their out. It is incumbent on America to take full advantage of their increasing vulnerability, to marginalize this profoundly mistaken and destructive faction and restore common sense to the fore. This Scotus decision was a 2 x 4 right to the snoot for them!

  3. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Fervid declarations of intent to "unify" this intensely divided country: coming from antiamerican leftists (or their disingenuous or pusillanimous dem enablers) means only this; universal subjugation to the unimpeachable, arbitrary and incidental will of deadly serious totalitarians, no more ,no less. For many good people it is an unattainable wish of finding common ground . But one side is committed to bringing about the death of America, the other is devoted to saving the life of America. Where is any workable common ground? Shall we break bread together, light campfires, join hands, sing and joyfully agree to make America only partly dead? Ain't gunna happen; things have gone way too far. "We have seen the future "and it is . . . well . . . unendurable, for both sides. One side or the other is going to prevail and will, of necessity, destroy the other side's ability to ever again get political power .For both sides their ways of life are at stake. If antiamerica should win it would suppress all opposition with draconian thoroughness; without such control it could not force its inhuman neomarxist agenda. If America wins then a free, democratic, prosperous and justly intended country would live on. It would have survived by being true to its flawed but proven redeemable self, perhaps decisively so even this year. A sullen and marginalized antiamerican rump would remain"ununited " in an America recivilized and reassured by the return of the reign of common sense. It would bleat freely but be met only by bemused and chastened pity.

  4. Jack, I see your regard for Nikki is flagging! I can understand why: her basic loyalty to the Republican Party is now in question. She may be about to pull a Liz Cheney...

Well, Jack, you're absolutely right that the unanimous SCOTUS decision must sting mightily for many leftists. The slow disintegration of their lawfare strategy in general must be very disheartening for them. For that matter, Joe Biden's steady disintegration must be pretty harrowing too! Having said all that, even with an atrocious candidate, the Dems are pretty close to even with Trump in the polls, and a bit of political sleight of hand could put them over the top. You pointed out a number of excellent reasons why the American people should be ready to FIRE the Dems once and for all, i.e. send them into the political wilderness. Sadly, there's no objective sign that the fundamental strength of the two parties, vis-a-vis one another, has changed. Trump's apparent strength right now, if you ask me, is more a reflection of Biden's weakness than it is a sign that the American public has had an ideological epiphany. Hey, prove me wrong -- I would love it if you could!

  5. Dr. Waddy from Jack: Another result of the cold civil war could be what didn't happen in 1861-65; the breakup of the U.S. If it comes it might be motivated by a sad realization that we are just too far apart and that we can no longer abide common citizenship with people whose views we simply cannot stand.Perhaps a breakup could be worked peacefully. I'd expect to see an independent antiamerica swiftly "progress" into full blown neomarxist dysfunction but at least America would be "just" an appalled onlooker. As a Trump supporter I am confident that most of us are this way, for the most part , not because of the imperious hostility of Biden and the antiamerican left he obsequiously and pitifully enables but rather because we like DJT very much. He appears to understand our frustration at having supported Presidents who were unwilling to take on the neomarxists with the gutsy decisiveness which is made indispensable by the unceasing domestic depredation with which our country has been confronted now for decades. He could have had a luxurious retirement but has instead exposed himself to unprecedented and heretofore unequaled vicious personal vexation. The way we see it, he's doing it for us and we are grateful. He's the most faithful advocate and defender America has had against antiamerica, since Pres. Reagan.

  6. Dr. Waddy from Jack: In my comment above I appear to have carelessly minimized the terribly important influence on us Magas of the past and present haughty disdain for the America to which we belong displayed by such as Biden and his far left captors. No, its just as important as our high regard for DJT I think.

  7. An American (territorial) divorce, you say? I wouldn't rule anything out. The contours of the new countries would be awfully difficult to agree upon, though. Red America could be contiguous, but blue America sure wouldn't be, and vast numbers of right- and left-wingers would be left stranded. It would be a huge mess. I would naturally prefer to see the country split at, say, the county level, but that would merely be a different kind of mess, and it would leave the deep blue cities potentially starved of, well, food, among other things. I continue to regard dictatorship by one side or the other as more probable.
