Friends, you surely won't want to miss this week's Newsmaker Show, starring Yours Truly. That's because we cover all the hottest topics, including President Biden's controversial trip to Saudi Arabia, the rise of China and India, the persistent infatuation that most Republicans have with Donald J. Trump, the continuing woes of the Democrats in terms of polling for the midterms, and more!
When we get to "This Day in History", Brian and I discuss the Battle of Kursk and the primacy of the Eastern Front in WWII, George Wallace and once-diverse Democratic Party, and the momentous career of Lee Iacocca.
Wow! It's like my knowledge of the world and its problems is practically encyclopedic. That's reason enough to tune in, I'd say...
Dr.Waddy fro mJack: I am watching for signsof dem desperation at this unrelenting bad poll news. What? Who knows? If they are wise and capable of temporarily containing their emotions they will stick by their principles, take their lumps and gird for 2024. Its little wonder President Trump is a figure of enervating dread to the far left captured dems! And their transparent Jan.6 emphasis, completely supported by their obsequious MSM, may well be blowing up in their atavistic , presumptuous faces. Sorry lefties.; the real America is awoken, yes? It took awhile, since afterall we are busy leading positive, constructive lives, unlike your professional, often government funded, "activism"; but now we SEE!
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddyfrom Jack: Apparentlythe frantic leftistJan.6 campaign, advanced solely by their politically doomed power to conduct characteristically totalitarian mockeries of well intended investigatory institutions, has had little effect on President Trump's trust by the real America. Too bad but you lefties are in for worse: you have thereby only strengthend our support for him. Forgive us our lamentable Rinos! They are persona non grata. Take NO hope from them!
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack: Yes! If President Trump runs for our nomination he will win. And I dare you lefties to present one who can beat him! He knows you, as only a real player can and since disingenuous misrepresentation is your essential tactic, your demonstrated means of gaining power, you must fear him!
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack:The vital leftist ally, the MSM, is abandoning Pino Biden, whose only function in 2020 was to defeat President Trump. That done, he is expendable, though his policies have been all that a radical might sensibly expect. But a sensible radical? Whatever is that? Who then in a Biden cleansed 2024, especially after the 2022 disgrace?
ReplyDeleteJack, you are wise to recognize that the best case scenario is if the Left (over)reacts to its predicament by lurching further to the left. They could also become overwrought, even violent, and much could be made of that. A constitutional crisis between the Dems in power in Washington and the Supreme Court could also be building. As you suggest, if they merely cool their jets and cede the House (but not the Senate) in 2022, the damage will be minimal, and in many ways they will benefit from having the GOP to kick around and blame for some of the country's misfortunes. Running against a "do-nothing" Congress is a great way to get reelected. I should think a "fascist" Congress would be even better.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about it, and the January 6th nonsense isn't cutting any mustard with Republicans and independents, but I suppose what it is doing is captivating the leftist true believers and the Fourth Estate. They take the committee's deliberations VERY seriously, and, from their perspective, this makes it look like the Dems are accomplishing something important: exposing Trump for the bride of Satan that he is. Maybe these Dems aren't as dumb as they look. Sometimes you have to throw your base a bone.
Dr.Waddy from Jack: That the Saudis are vital to world energy fossil fuel supplies is probably of disdain by American leftists and presents them much valued pretext for jettisoning Pino Biden!.What redoubtable irrefutable leftist stands to carry the banner!? Against President Trump? Dream again!
ReplyDeleteJack, the battle for the Dem nomination in 2024 is going to be fun to watch! That's assuming that it isn't another establishment-moderated coronation, of course. When will the REAL lefties figure out they're being played? I dunno.
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack Oh and should you lefties think to fault us for supporting flawed Donald Trump, remember, you are the party of the CLINTONS! 'Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack: Re: your notation of the titanic especially tank battle of Kursk: In 1943 the Boche certainly were still a fearsome opponent. They fought with incredible , often suicidal ferocity all the way back to Berlin. Yes, they did know that capture by the Rus meant torture and death. Nonetheless consider how very hard they fought even against the humane and civilized Allies. And the Rus fought with superlative devotion at Kursk to turn the Boche to permanent retreat. The western allies had counted the Krauts out until Dec. '44 at The Bulge. The allies were severely mauled there before favorable weather, German fuel paucity and able allied generalship turned it. Russian troop motivation at Kursk:very probably enraged beyond endurance by unrelenting Nazi atrocity in European Russia, bred murderous vengeance in ethnic Russian forces. Today's Ukraine war: what motivates probably mostly ethnic Russian conscripts, since most of USSR Asia is now "independent"? It may be that the Russian command employs WW II tactics without requisite WWII resolution in its forces and in its traditional tactic of amassing overwhelming force. Oh it worked against Finland. Eventually! But now?
ReplyDeleteJack, I'm going to partially disagree (egads, right?). From my reading of various Eastern Front memoirs, I'd say it's hard to generalize about the performance or motivation of Red Army soldiers. There were plenty who weren't by any means steely and courageous. The Russkies fought WAY better in 1943, 44, and 45 than they did at the beginning of the war, and I'm sure some of that was genuine revulsion at German atrocities (and ignorance of Stalinist atrocities?), but a lot of it was down to improvements in command, tactics, and strategy. Stalin let his best generals run the show starting in 42, and that was a game-changer.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that, if one wants to start generalizing about the Russians, when they're done feeding men into the meatgrinder based on abject stupidity, they CAN and often do learn from their mistakes.
ReplyDeleteBut then again...who doesn't?
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack: Russian army readiness afterStalin's insane '30s purges ( eg. able Marshall Tukachevsky) was understandably diminished. Its a wonder anyone was willing to serve him! But then, torture and their families! Stalin's disingenuous usurpation of the "defen d Mother Russia motivation was completely self serving: i.e to save his quivering ass!
