Friends, it's always wise to keep an eye on the big picture. There are poll results flying left and right these days, and it's easy to get disoriented, but the upshot of all the polls is the polling average, and on this score Republicans should be feeling pretty good. For a short while the dastardly Dems pulled ahead on the "generic ballot question", but now they've fallen behind again and all the momentum seems to be with the good guys. And that's kinda propitious timing! In case you weren't aware, the midterms are almost here!

In other news, local, state, and federal prosecutors seem to be genuinely interested in pursuing criminal charges against red state governors who are sending "migrants" north to places like NYC, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Martha's Vineyard. Their theory is that giving someone a free ride under false pretenses is tantamount to kidnapping. But of course everything that Biden's DHS tells the migrants when it buses and flies them hither and yon is completely above board, so no criminality there! These efforts may seem ridiculous, but we should take half-seriously the current fashion on the Left for throwing, well, all their enemies in jail, in lieu of letting the American people decide who gets to run the country. That's their idea of "democracy": first, we shoot all the dissidents, and then we have an election... Nice!

Dr. Waddy from Jack: Since it is entirely plausible that the American far left, should it achieve the totalitarian power for which it suffers in unrequited emotional distress, WILL act in the time proven way of totalitarians always and fulfill your suggestions above,we should be motivated by certainty that such evil would attend their vindictive triumph.
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: I expect that Kevin McCarthy will have to do with these injustices in the near future, to the distinct inconvenience of their presumptuous and desperate propagators.
ReplyDeleteJack, Kevin McCarthy is going to have his work cut out for him! Much of his caucus will want to dive right into impeachments galore, and he'll have to stifle their enthusiasm, somewhat. It's an interesting question what the House (or a Republican Senate) could do to facilitate GOP victory in 2024. Impeachment, I suspect, would be a sideshow and maybe a liability. Government shutdowns? Possibly the same. If we have a recession the pressure will be intense to fund endless "stimulus". What will be McCarthy's answer? We shall see.
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack: I always looked on Gingrich as the Prime Minister of the US. He made a rare old mess of Clintonian presumptions. If McCarthy is a skilled executive he may be much the same way with the Biden junta. Admitedly they are far more open and blatant "fundamental transformers" and are still stung to the quick by their crushing disappointment in 2016, when they thought their hour at hand. But if McCarthy bustles, they will have two targets upon whom to work their vicious calumny and excoriation : President Trump and PM McCarthy and that may be too much even for those jackals. Madame Pelosi has afforded McCarthy much opportunity for political mano a mano from which he may derive useful experience.
ReplyDeleteDr.Waddy from Jack: I agree: why waste time on Pino Biden. He will do a fine job fouling things up for his party. But House Committee on - --

Jack, as a loyal Fox News viewer, you know a million times more about Kevin McCarthy than I do. I hope he's up to it! It won't be easy to decide how aggressive to be in blocking Bidenism, or in investigating leftist malfeasance. I suspect the more determinative factor in 2024 will be the upcoming recession, and whether we're past it by then or still knee-deep.
