Big Tech bandits, be afraid -- there's a new Sheriff in town, and he's coming for YOU! His name is Ron DeSantis, and he actually holds the rank of GOVERNOR (thus the oversized badge). He's determined to stop giant social media companies in their tracks as they try to restrict free speech and deplatform politicians that rub them the wrong way. His efforts are, in my view, timely, noble, and absolutely essential to the survival of our democracy. As such, I hereby confer on Saint Ron the title of "Frontrunner for the 2024 GOP Presidential nomination". Uh oh, that means I'm going to have to alter the header to this blog. It's getting crowded up there!
Read all about it in my latest article in Townhall:
In other news, the Defense Department is on the hunt for "extremists" in its ranks. Gee, I wonder how many Antifa and BLM thugs will be caught up in their dragnet. Maybe...zero?

Cancel culture has really come into its own! Some white lefties with guilty consciences are even cancelling themselves! That's rare, of course. Almost never do liberals hold themselves to the same standards they apply to others.

President Trump was constantly and unfairly attacked while in office for trying to enrich himself at taxpayers' expense, when the truth is that being president was immensely costly for him and his family. Now, though, freed of the restrictions of public office, Trump can cash in BIG, if he so chooses. Needless to say, if he starts selling hats, or golf balls, or ghoulish Crazy Nancy bobbleheads, I'll be first in line to buy one.

This is a long article, but it's worth a read. It's about how "science" education has become remarkably unscientific and advocacy-based. Hardly a surprise. "Science" is about advancing an agenda, as far as liberals are concerned, because they see no difference between their values and opinions and objective truth. This is reason number one why liberals are a danger to others and to civilization itself.

Lastly, here's a profile of Senator Josh Hawley, who denies he's running for president, but may change his mind before 2024 rolls around. I've never heard him speak, but I'm mightily intrigued.

DR. NICK
ReplyDeleteBy all means, you do need to change your blog header.
Please put Governor Ron DeSantis up there big and bold.
Please think about deleting Thatcher and Reagan. I know they were conservatives and all that, but they are "golden oldies" and we need more up to date people, like DeSantis of course.
I have my doubts about Cruz.
I doubt most Americans even remember Spiro Agnew.
Leave Ron Paul.
Please delete Donald Trump, Jr. Sorry, but I never could stand the guy, with all of his yapping and whatnot.
I'm ignorant. Who is that other guy?
Think about this. There must be some really upcoming Republican women so get them up there. How about Nikki?
Josh Hawley. No on Nikki. no thanks. Rino. lol
DeleteDR.NICK,
ReplyDeletePlease stop using the term/word "Liberal". In my opinion. this does NOT really describe our so called "Democrats" any more, and has not for years. Perhaps "LEFTIST" best describes an assortment of American Socialists,Marxists, Leninists, Maoists and so on. Certainly, none of these people resemble traditional "Liberals" as such. Ironically, the traditional color for Leftists used to be Red for a very long time, now American Leftists use Blue, and Republicans are Reds. No matter what, all European Leftists used to be described as the "Red Scum of Europe".
Test from Jack

ReplyDeleteDr from Jack: The field is growing in an interesting manner:the mantle of.leader of the real America may be available if that person earns Donald Trump's endorsement. Paul, Hawley, Desantis, could all be candidates against the Kamalafornia junta. As bad as Joe Kerensky is,imagine how presumptuous her "rule" will be when she deposed hapless Joe. But then, maybe she.will not have to do so. Joe I may be a puppet amenable to unlimited manipulation.
ReplyDeleteAgain, DeSantis' move here is purely political. He has no chance of actually having any of this survive judicial scrutiny. The Big Tech companies are not headquartered in FL and they engage in interstate commerce.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who is on Facebook, Twitter, etc. agree to their Terms of Service. That is a contractual relationship voluntarily agreed to by users. FL can't interfere with that because the companies are not in CA. The only thing FL could do is try to bar these companies from doing business in FL, which means FL residents would lose the ability to access these services (no Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc.). I doubt very much FL residents would be happy with DeSantis.
Issue fines? The companies would just refuse to pay.
Any government official who thinks these measures are legal don't deserve being president. It would be great if the courts sanction DeSantis for creating frivolous regulations.
DeSantis for president in 2024? He has to get re-elected in FL first.
So, after the Cheney and Green vote(s), I am done... And thus a third party was born. DeSantis seems like a nice guy, but we all know what happens to nice guys, right?
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
DeleteForget guys in 2024! How about Carol Miller Swain as President of The United States of America? Check her out. Time for a strong Conservative Woman of Color to be President.
Dr. Swain almost became Mayor of Nashville, TN. She used to be a Professor of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. There was a student petition to suspend her for her views, which in my opinion, means she was a real threat to The Leftists who run the place, as they do most universities and colleges.
Carol Swain for President in 2024.
Ray, the "other guy" is Josh Hawley, a promising upstart. I like Don, Jr., but it remains to be seen if he's serious about politics. He may be sick of it. I wouldn't blame him. Reagan and Thatcher can stay for now, but I'm open to replacing them. Add a chick? You mean a LIVING chick? Oh my. You mean women can run for president??? This is news to me! :O
ReplyDeleteRay, I agree about the ambiguity in the term "liberal". I avoid it most of the time, but it is in common usage, so hey...
Jack, you're certainly right that a Trump endorsement would carry ENORMOUS weight. I wonder if he would go that route... The stakes would be mighty high! Perhaps DeSantis has the inside track, as DJT's own Governor?
As for Sleepy Joe, I hope he sticks it out. He's just the kind of wet noodle we need at the head of the Democratic Party.
Rod, for reasons I've already stated I disagree that DeSantis's proposed laws are likely to be thrown out by the courts. We'll see. In any case, what some countries are proposing, like Poland and Hungary, may ultimately be more significant. My guess would be that, in the long term, the social media companies will probably have to create a menu of options for individuals and for different jurisdictions when it comes to content moderation. Otherwise they're bound to fall afoul of some regulation somewhere.
Linda, I'm disappointed about Cheney, but we can't afford to make Trump the litmus test for Republicans. We need to keep that "Big Tent" inflated if we're to oppose Dem tyranny successfully. As for Greene, the Republicans, somewhat remarkably, refused to evict her from her committees. It was the Dems who did that.
