The Incredible Shrinking Democratic Party!

Friends, it's become increasingly obvious that there's very little that unites Democrats, except a loathing for Donald Trump and Republicans, and a desire to "make right" what happened (inexplicably!) in 2016.  I recommend to you this article, which discusses the fragile nature of the "blue wave" we've heard so much about, and more importantly discusses what calamities may befall the Left if that blue wave doesn't materialize.  For now, the crazies and socialists in the Democratic Party are willing to tolerate the leadership of the establishment...but if there's no blue wave?  Then, all hell will break loose, and the consequences will be historic, mark my words.  I agree with this fellow on one thing, above all: the 2018 election is massively important!!!  Don't be caught napping.

  1. Dr. Waddy: I read it and it made my day. You have heart and intellectual integrity to read what Dems write. I would as lief sit on a tack and that is to my discredit.

We are in a very good position. If we lose both the House and the Senate ( an unlikely development as your predictive judgement, borne out in the Kavanaugh ordeal, has held) Trump is still President and 2020 is another year. I'd think it probably won't come to that and that it may turn out as this unusually objective Dem fears, much to be favorably anticipated.

I think at 71 that I will, barring the unforeseen, have about ten to fifteen years left. I've feared that I would live to see the assured triumph of the America hating left. Instead, I now think I may see their deserved marginalization as a fulfillment of my long held belief that the leftist attack on America will prove to have been a harrowing, bizarre but temporary interlude.

  2. Jack, not just America, but modern medicine, is getting greater and greater, so don't be shocked if you live to see Barron's grandson take the Oath of Office in 2086... Nothing is impossible!

If the Dems did take the Congress, if I were Trump I'd shut down the government and leave it that way, until my demands (for the Wall, etc.) were met.

Part of me would also rejoice to see the Dems tie themselves in knots over impeachment. I doubt very much they'd be able to hold their caucus together to pass it...and if they didn't, their base would HOWL.

  3. Dr. Waddy: I'd be unendurable if I reached that age. Great point about impeachment. They can foam about it all they want but they'd have to be thinking about 2020all the while.

  4. Yes, if I were the Dems I'd be careful what I wished for. A Democratic House would present them with a great platform through which to showcase their disunity and general nuttiness, but it would do little else for their cause.
