Hyper-Excellence in Broadcasting

Friends, I've recorded another interview with Brian O'Neil for the Newsmaker program, and you won't want to miss it.  We discuss sending troops to the border with Mexico, David Hogg, continuing complications with Brexit, and other topics.  So, gather the family 'round the old wireless (or follow the link below), and be amazed!

Unfortunately, we continue to experience challenges with the audio.  Could the Russians be responsible for the interference?  The Chinese?  Obama?  A Russian-Chinese clone of Obama?  These are all possibilities that I take seriously, and you can rest assured that we will get to the bottom of it!

  1. Dr. Waddy: I listened; I was prepared to say "oh well, Mr.Hogg is a high schooler and by definition immature and impulsive" but he's had an experience very few people of any age have had so I cannot dismiss his comments out of hand. I'd like to hear him specifying, when he constrains the President to act, that he'd like to see the schools themselves immediately physically defended. Sounds like the gun grabbers have gotten to him though and there is little surprise in that given their onerous use of secondary education. He reminds me of what I remember of John Kerry in 1971 testifying before Congress, in his post military hirsute insouciance. He also had experienced extreme violence and was no high schooler but his remarks were still similarly ill considered. Maybe we will hear from Mr. Hogg in the future. I like the picture; I remember listening to Korean War news in a setting like that.

  2. Yes, he's got the (contrived) moral outrage down pat, doesn't he? "Are you suggesting that DEMOCRATS are responsible for school shootings? HOW DARE YOU! Violence and tragedy should never be politicized." (Said the boy who politicizes everything.) As you say, he and his ilk seem oblivious to any and all issues regarding school safety except for gun control. That's a pity. They clearly haven't been reading this blog!

  3. Excellent response to the Hogg response, "I could do without the language." Unfort., as you know, that use of language is used everyday, even in Academia/professors (not you), but many professors/teachers have stepped down to this level of foul language and many classrooms are no longer being controlled by the adult in charge.

Professors/teachers could take a lesson from you and many professors at ASC and learn to speak eloquently. I'm afraid, though, it is a thing of the past.

  4. Linda, I'm sorry to hear that other professors permit the use of profane language, and perhaps even use it themselves. When will people learn that, while there might be a place for "strong language", that place isn't...EVERYWHERE and ALL THE TIME. As you say, manners are slipping, and that's a shame. Respect is important, and if you don't even respect yourself, well, look out. Too many leftists now seem to believe that anger is a virtue in itself, and whoever is angriest is best... That's a sad commentary on the state of our politics.
