Friends, yet another adversary of DJT has been indicted by the new-and-improved Department of Justice. Bravo! Is John Bolton innocent or guilty? That's for a jury to decide. For now, all we know is that he's squirming, along with a great many prominent Trump haters nationwide...
In other news, President Zelensky is coming to Washington, and he'll be begging for Tomahawk missiles, which Trump may be somewhat less likely to proffer, now that he's got another date with Vladimir Putin. This one will take place in Hungary in the next few weeks. (I recommend the goulash!) Will any of this change the basic dynamics of the interminable and pointless war in Ukraine? Don't hold your breath.

Finally, a big debate happened tonight in NYC, featuring the three major candidates for mayor: Mamdani, Cuomo, and Sliwa. The polls say Mamdani has a big edge, but what no one has explained to me is how ranked choice voting is likely to impact the outcome. Assuming Sliwa's votes go eventually to Cuomo, this could be a tight one!
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I hope all in the same room as this debate bring independent personal oxygen supplies. If Cuomo is true to form, his cavernous histrionic maw will quickly consume all the vital gases.
ReplyDeleteThen again Comrade Mamdani has shown a talent for moderated understatement. Why talk with radical verve when one's obvious convictions are unmistakably of very far left intent? If I were Cuomo I'd give a disingenuous demonstration of a new, much chastened Cuomo who only wants to "DO" common sense in the twilight of his exalted political Odyssey. Oh if he really tried he could "DO" humble for awhile.
Heck, a Mayor Cuomo determined to go for the big one in '28 would be constrained to disingenuously follow some common sense principles in order to compete for the nomination and in doing so he might actually do some grudging benefit. Of course if he loses the nomination he can always revert to his essential self, the savior of NY from its detested "only a vocal minnahritty" and have at least year to bustle in it, that is if he behaves.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I suspect the far left will show at "best" luke warm support for Bolton. He once dared to oppose them; I think they will not waste much political capital on defending him . They are going to save that for their passionate advocacy for the "cause" of at least now incumbent NY AG Letitia James. She is perhaps the exemplar of the "by ANY means necessary" principle which informed the lawfare of the infamous 2020 - 24 interim. If convicted, why, she would have to relinquish her august position as NY's premier law enforcer! Why, what indefensible blasphemy!

And he "looks forward" to cooperation in this from our far left apologist Governor. Mamdani probably assumes our one party dictatorship legislature is his to command.
