Friends, the threat and/or the reality of reciprocal tariffs has motivated dozens of countries to come to the negotiating table to work out a new trading relationship with Trump's America. Already, the U.K., China, and Vietnam have come to terms with us...terms that are much more favorable than the ones that Biden and Co. accepted as a matter of course. Now, the deadline for reaching an agreement applying to other countries has been extended until August 1, while the potential consequences of failing to do so have been outlined by none other than DJT himself. Expect, in short, more progress in the days and weeks ahead! Some countries will get hammered by new, punitive tariffs, no doubt, but that's necessary to keep the rest of the world honest. Kudos to President Trump for fighting the good fight on our behalf!

In other news, SCOTUS's abolition of "universal injunctions" is an extremely positive first step in reining in activist judges, but it may not be enough, in itself. Powerful tools still remain in the hands of the unscrupulous lawyers and politicians who wish to make trouble for the Trump Administration, and to protect the Deep State from meaningful reforms. In short, SCOTUS may need to go further, or Congress may need to act, to permanently remove leftist judges' ability to obstruct executive action.
test from Jack
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: We can be certain that the Dems will continue to obstruct. They have been reduced to such as bleary prerorations and Schumer's detestable attempt to make the Texas tragedy into political hay by blaming it on President Trump's heretic attacks on the unimpeachable "Green New Deal" .
ReplyDeleteSo yes, they will attempt all manner of avoidance of the plainly intended effect of the ruling against universal injunctions. The Weingarten article describes several ways in which they can (and already have in one instance) venture to dodge it.
The article said Scotus did not rule on whether such an "absurd " and "abominable" misuse of the Federal District Courts would or would not be acceptable were it to be authorized by Congress. At first I thought "what chance could there be of such poltroonery?" But then we are dealing with a dem party subjugated by a far left for which "any means necessary" is a completely justified maxim. If they had Congress I wouldn't put it past them. Would Scotus pull them up short? This one would I think.
You are right and Weingarten is too in asserting that Scotus must meet these subterfuges (eg. "class action" suits with the certification process made conveniently easier by fiat of far left District Court or Circuit Court Judges or by states becoming third parties to suits and presuming the injunctions granted within the proper geographical jurisdiction of District Courts to accrue to the benefit of the participant state(s) ) head on. "Intent"could well be argued as a key factor in deciding such cases and disciplining biased Judges.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I'm glad President Trump is so assertive on tariffs. He is probably right that many countries have cynically taken advantage of an America which harbors a significant and influential faction which thinks it just that America make amends to the world for our economic, military and moral power.
ReplyDeleteTo our hombre President, that is baloney! "If you want to trade with us, here's the deal, plain and simple. Treat us fairly and you'll get along with us; mess with us and we'll make you regret it." Should anyone expect any less of a canny, streetwise, unapologetic business man? He's wisely using our power to stand up for us in a world in which POWER is still of prime importance. And being the most benevolent great power in history, the world is fortunate that it is the U.S. that is wielding it.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: I also heard that Schumer blamed the Texas flood death and destruction on the President's cuts in federal weather service. Is it any wonder that DJT came back MOTIVATED after all the hyperbolic dreck he has gotten since he entered the public arena? These far leftists actually think they can say anything they want about anybody and you better like it!
ReplyDeleteDr. Waddy from Jack: Well, more from Comrade Mamdani today:
ReplyDeleteHe maintains that there is plenty of good housing in NYC and that it is in the hands of people who answered the call of . . . (do I hear The Internationale and the East is Red playing in the background?). . . PROFIT, that dirty word!He "suggests that it be condemned away from its present owners and occupants and given gratis to the broad masses who are now unjustly denied it". Presumably any additional space can be created by the erection of crumbling communalkas with five families to an apartment . Uhh, will this redistribution include his own comfortable dwelling? Oh somehow I think not.
I lived in mass public housing in Singapore when I went to university there. It was clean, calm , sturdy and crime free. Not so such housing in the U.S..Re: the novel Horror of Cabrini Green (a public housing project in Chicago which was anarchic). Big city public housing does not work in the U.S. and NYC is pretty dang big.
This guy really doesn't care who knows he is an out and out marxist: a champion of a doctrine catastrophically discredited by history due its record of titanically mass murder and complete dysfunction in the vast reaches which were cursed by it.He has already begun to temporize about some of his past expressions in support of this proven monstrous doctrine but I think we have already heard enough. Maybe he actually thinks such counterintuitive reasoning commends him to a sufficient faction of the NYC electorate to carry him victory and its an appalling prospect that he could be right. But if he does win he has no hope of fundamentally transforming anything beyond NYC and maybe subjugated NY state. He would simply provide a very much telling example to common sense America of why it should never empower any hint of far leftist policy and policy makers.
President Trump warns that if Mandami wins and tries to force commie hell on NYC that the Feds will intervene. He's not kidding. That's a measure which NY state and Kalifornia's far left dictatorships have already rated now for a while now. The Feds took over some southern states in the late '50s and the '60s when they refused to honor the civil rights of all of their citizens. The President could send Navy amphibious ships loaded with Marines right into NY harbor and up the Hudson if necessary.
There is a reckoning coming for Immigration Law despising "sanctuary cities and states" and Comrade Mandami could hasten it should he recklessly venture to establish hellish Marxism anwhere in the U.S.
Dr. Waddy from Jack: The proven duty of our military is to protect us against foreign and, if necessary domestic enemies. 1861-65 and some of Reconstruction fell under the latter category and the former manifested combat the size and intensity of which was unequalled, except by China's coincident Tai Ping rebellion (think a million men on one battlefield)until WWI. Our National Guard has gone into armed opposition, in full combat gear, to forces which defy law, order and the rights of law abiding citizens in our country many times.
ReplyDeleteSo the use of the military or armed and organized law enforcement within the U.S. has more than enough precedent. The Mayor of L.A. should be brought to law for her physical interference and her command authority used to resist ICE, together with the unlawful example she knowingly sets for violent demagogues , thrill seeking apolitical street trash and grimly determined forceful opponents of all our laws. Should she muster any physical resistance to arrest, it must be dealt with summarily and with force deployable if needed.
Enough is enough; are our laws to be enforced or not?! I think it entirely predictable that President Trump WILL react with all the force necessary, of which he has vast resource, to forceful and purposeful rebellion. If an elected Comrade Mandami chooses to enact marxist tyranny in NYC I have no doubt the President will fulfill his promise to stop it , as such a proven inhuman doctrine should be crushed when ever it acts to turn its detested screed into policy. Americans are right to expect their Federal government to support the Constitution and its legal products, for all Americans threatened otherwise by local or state totalitarians.
