The good news, for those who are skeptical of the flat tax, is that it will never happen. Our governmental system is only capable of incremental change at a glacial pace -- unless, of course, our judicial masters decide to rule by fiat, which they often do.Nicholas Waddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14650770835328089297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8511148187940933062.post-52118098773146219652018-03-07T16:04:09.903-05:002018-03-07T16:04:09.903-05:00Dr. Waddy: I am ignorant when it comes to economic...Dr. Waddy: I am ignorant when it comes to economics and taxes. I hate the complications of our tax regime but think it to be partly a result of our democracy, the radical modification of which, (eg. flat tax) might have unintended negative consequences. So much that is now close to organic (eg.personal economic strategies which take our tax realities into necessary consideration; people whose very livelihoods are based in our present tax structure)would probably be disrupted. Still, I'd support the flat tax, as long as it was eased in with protections for those of good will who depended on the former structure. I do not understand the recent budget deal but I still trust our canny President to make of it (as he may have intended), a good deal. I think your proposals in your article are solid and workable and I hope they are followed. Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11685137896038330527noreply@blogger.com
